Data Analytics and Machine Learning in Julia Workshop
Date: 09 August 2021 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Organisers: Dr Lameck Amugongo, Dr Victor Katoma, Prof José Quenum
This workshop aims to expose the participants to practical aspects of data analytics and machine learning in the Julia programming language; a language that enjoys the simplicity of Python and the performance of C. The topics covered in this workshop include an introduction to Julia, regression and classification with regularisation, latent class analysis and data profiling, model fitting and optimisation and big data and artificial intelligence.
Because we intend to use the time allocated for the workshop for practical sessions, all lectures will be pre-recorded and uploaded prior to the workshop. A short discussion will take place before each practical session.
To join the workshop, please register to the conference and select the workshop. We will then get in touch with you with all the necessary details.
Computing and Fourth Industrial Revolution (C&4IR)
11 August 2021
The Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) with African Strategy for Fundamental and Applied Physics (ASFAP) together bring a Workshop on Computing and Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) to be held on August 11, 2021 in conjunction with the International Conference on Data Science, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (http://dsmlai.nust.na/). This will be a virtual event, but also planning an in-person event in Windhoek, Namibia. Physical attendance is not expected or required for authors and presenters. Still, those who live in or near Windhoek or outside Namibia are welcome if local regulations allow for travel and social gatherings. The workshop will have Invited talks, Paper presentations and Panel discussion.
Call for Papers
The program committee of the Workshop invites the submission of original research work or reports on application revolving around the fields of Computing and Fourth Industrial Revolution. Themes of the workshop include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Intelligent Communication and Automation System
- Data Analytics and Intelligent tools
- IoT, Edge Computing, AI, Machine Learning and Deep Learning
- Security: Cyber Security, Blockchain
- Federated and shared computing
- Training and sharing knowledge
- Software Architecture and Artificial Intelligence
All submissions should be made on Easy Chair at: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=c4ir
Each paper should be formatted following the ACM standard template.
Paper submission deadline: 6th July 2021.
Publication: Accepted and presented papers will be published in the International Conference Proceedings Series by Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), which will be archived in the ACM Digital Library, and indexed by Ei Compendex, Scopus, etc. DSMLAI ISBN: 978-1-4503-8763-7.
This workshop will assemble a panel of experts on Computing and 4IR to showcase latest development as well as to answer questions.
